Tony Awards, acara yang memberikan penghargaan kepada para profesional teater atas pencapaiannya dalam pertunjukkan Broadway kembali diadakan pada tahun ini. Tony Awards ke-76 diadakan pada hari Minggu, 11 Juni 2023 di United Palace Theatre dan ditayangkan di CBS dan Paramount+. Diketahui, Tony Awards 2023 dibawakan oleh Ariana DeBose sebagai pembawa acara. Sebelumnya, DeBose juga menjadi pembawa acara dalam acara Tony Awards tahun lalu. DeBose mengakui bahwa acara tersebut berlangsung tanpa naskah akibat pemogokan yang sedang berlangsung oleh Writers Guild of America (WGA).

“Acara penghargaan secara tradisional ditulis oleh anggota WGA, jadi agar acara ini berlangsung, banyak orang harus berkumpul untuk menemukan kompromi,” ucap DeBose.

"Jadi, bagi siapa pun yang merasa tahun lalu agak tertekuk, kepada mereka saya katakan, sayang kencangkan sabuk pengaman!" lanjutnya.

Pemenang Tony Awards ditentukan oleh 769 profesional industri teater, kelompok yang mencakup berbagai profesional industri teater mulai dari produser dan aktor hingga desainer dan sutradara.
